If there had never been Sue Brewer, there may never have been the Outlaw Country movement led by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash. Though the artists already knew each other, in the mid-‘60s, Brewer gave them a safe haven in her Nashville living room, dubbed the Boar’s Nest, to create music and form lifelong friendships. She believed in them when naysayers in the Nashville music establishment doubted them and provided a shelter from the outside world, including, at times, their wives.

EXCLUSIVE: Fresh Produce Media, the podcast company behind Jon Hamm and Kate Mara-fronted scripted series The Big Lie, has renewed its first-look deal with Audible. The Amazon-owned company has extended the multi-year agreement after initially striking a deal with Fresh Produce in March 2022.

EXCLUSIVE: A trio of British actors is leading The Salvation, an Audible sci-fi podcast drama. Ariyon Bakare (His Dark Materials, Good Omens), Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones, Vigil) and Toby Jones (The Hunger Games, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) will star in the time-travel series, which is from musical artist and writer Justin Lockey. The Salvation drops on Audible on Thursday (October 5), directed by Boz Temple-Morris and recorded in London. A.K. Benedict and Jeffrey Aidoo have provided additional writing on the eight-part series, which comes from audio-first entertainment company Fresh Produce Media and London-based producer Free Turn Entertainment.
